The Sagola Township Sportsmen’s Club announces The Upper Peninsula Side-by-Side Classic, a two-day celebration of the pleasures of handling, seeing and shooting fine side-by-side double guns. This event is held in the heart of Michigan’s Upper Peninsula, 125 miles north of Green Bay, WI. 226 targets will be presented to each shooter, consisting of 120 Sporting Clays, 76 flushed “Quail” and a 30 target "pigeon" ring. The layout of these events is compact to enable all shooters to observe other participants’ guns and their use of them. Targets may be engaged with any bore, limited to a maximum of 1 1/8 oz. of #7 ½ or smaller shot.
Lots and lots of exhibitors will present opportunities for participants to explore the possibilities of double gun use and give wing to their imaginations.
Many high quality double guns will be awarded during the event, over $15,000.00 worth, and many other favors and prizes will be given away. Continental breakfast and a Banquet dinner will be provided, lunch will be available, and there will be an open bar Saturday night.
Registration is limited to 120 shooters and the cost is $325. Guests may attend and eat and drink for $50. No charge for spectators.

| The Philosophy |
Many enjoy highly competitive clay shooting, and there is nothing wrong with such events; however this event emphasizes the beauty and utility of the side-by-side and the camaraderie of the participants based on their mutual appreciation of the form.
Although there will be shooting competition and there will be prizes, this event is not all about winning or losing. The Grand Prize will be awarded as a raffle prize, with a raffle ticket given to each entrant. Lewis class prizes will be awarded based on combined scores for all events.
