We have reorganized the U.P. Side-by-Side Classic.
We feel the shoot will be improved with these changes, and your
enjoyment of this premier event will be enhanced.
The Classis will be held on four days, starting the
Thursday before Father’s Day weekend and running Friday, Saturday and
Sunday. The cost is still
$325. Unlike other years,
you can shoot official scores on every day, Thursday through Sunday
(June 14-17). The
official scores will include 100 rounds of sporting clays, 15 rounds on
each of the pigeon rings for a total of 30 birds, and a 76-round flurry.
A big difference is the amount of rounds you can
shoot for your entry money.
The shooter can shoot as much or as little as they want to for all four
days. There will not be side
events. All shooters will be
registered, and they can pick the score sheets to turn in for their
official score. Scoring will
still be Lewis Class, with eight vintage shotguns for prizes with an
approximate value of $15,000.
This gives all of us shooting a chance to shoot those guns that
have been forgotten in the back of the safe, a chance to try different
ammunition at the different events, and you will have four days to enjoy
it. If you have scheduling
problems, you will be able to complete your shooting in two days of your
choosing.
We will not be doing a formal banquet as in other
years. We have lost our
caterer, but we are still having a sumptuous and hearty dinner on
Saturday evening for registered shooters.
Don’t worry, you will still dine on china plates with real
silverware, and the food will be prepared outside by a local chef who
gets high marks from diners.
The shooter will also have a longer time to enjoy the dinner, visit and
appreciate the scenery of Lake Edey.
Non-registered shooters can dine for $25.
The fee for registered shooters is included in their entry fee.
